San Diego Hula Academy & Hau Ura are thrilled to return to The Grand Ritz Theater for their annual hōʻʻike event. Under the direction of Kumu Hula Kawena Garuba, Raʻatira ʻAulani Murphy, San Diego Hula Academy & Hau Ura present an evening of culture perpetuating traditions of Hawaiʻi and Tahiti.

About the event
This yearʻs production, entitled “E Mālama Aku E Mālama Mai”, explores the moʻoʻolelo (history) of Hawaiʻi and Tahitiʻs revered deities. In the honor of the teachings of our kūpuna, we are blessed to share the stories deeply rooted in history, tradition, spirituality and culture. Join us on this exploration of stories moving you through chant, song and movement. Hōʻike 2024: E Mālama Aku E Malama Mai will take place on Saturday, May 11th at 4 pm. Tickets are $25 for advanced purchase tickets and $30 per ticket at the door. Funds raised from ticket sales defray costs for our dancerʻs winter holiday performances. Mahalo nui for your support.
